Farmington R-7 Burning Through Cash Reserves

The district is burning through our cash reserves. Financial stability matters — especially when it comes to our schools.

While our district maintains healthy cash balances and meets all debt obligations, recent financial statements show that the primary operating fund is running at a deficit. That’s a warning sign that deserves attention.

Cash reserves can buy time, but they don’t fix structural budgeting issues. Long-term stability requires balancing ongoing expenses with ongoing revenue.

I’m running for The Farmington R-7 School Board to bring fiscal responsibility, transparency, and long-term planning back to the table — so we protect teachers, students, and taxpayers without surprises down the road.
