The driving force behind my campaign is simple and urgent: making the Farmington R-7 School District the safest school district in the state—before something preventable happens.

After seeing firsthand the vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our current safety and security program, it is clear that the status quo is not acceptable. I am committed to pushing for a comprehensive overhaul of our district’s Safety and Security Program. We can no longer rely on the dangerous mindset of “It will never happen here.” Our children and staff deserve better, and their safety must be the district’s top priority, not an afterthought.

Hearing that proper school security “isn’t in the budget” is no longer acceptable. Protecting our students and staff must come first. Once this critical priority is addressed, I will move forward on other important areas of concern for our district. 

I also want to be a strong and consistent voice for our teachers and staff—ensuring they are heard, respected, and given the tools they need to succeed. Our educators deserve competitive pay and strong support to recruit and retain the best teachers in our area. We want the best educators working in Farmington R-7, not leaving for opportunities elsewhere.

If you VOTE for Kyle S. Short, I will fight for our district employees and carefully question every dollar spent to ensure we are using our limited resources wisely—providing the best possible education for our children and a strong, supportive workplace for our staff.

I am committed to working collaboratively with our current school board and administration to make these goals a reality, while also delivering meaningful transparency to district employees and the taxpayers who fund our schools.
