Cut The Waste Not Education

With projected budget cuts that will directly impact our children’s education, it is critical that we closely examine every dollar spent.

As I continue to review the budget, I am finding troubling inefficiencies with some tied to positions that did not previously exist and appear connected to favoritism, friendships, family relationships, or political considerations. Nepotism and politics have no place in our schools.

These practices are unfair to other deserving employees, create waste, harm our children’s education, make it harder to recruit and retain quality staff, damage employee morale, and place unqualified individuals in charge of managing a budget exceeding $50 million annually. This is our money, and it must be handled responsibly.

Change won’t happen overnight, but it starts with accountability.

I am committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and doing what is right for our children and our schools.
